My latest quick shots and net finds. All the silly things you can not put into pinterest or tumblr. Do not expect too many content here because I am a lazy writer and a slacker when it comes to web updates.
Dubrovnik was one of the many sets for season two and three of Game Of Thrones. Sets like Kings Landing or everything around Daenerys Targaryen was shot in this very nice city and its surroundings. I was there for a week this spring to make a few shots.
This is a guest post by Miss Fredericson. She went to India in February 2013 and made a big trip through the country. She came back with 1600 photos after four weeks. No big photo experience and no special training for the trip. This is the result. 227 photos, all are out-of-the-cam JPGs. See for yourself.
Kupari used to be the holiday resort of Josip Broz Tito, the former Yugoslavian leader and his party friends and other important people. It contains four main buildings for at leat 4000 guests.Today, it is a completely abandoned zone and it looks a lot like Chernobyl.
I spent two weeks in Berlin during the end of 2012. I also had the chance to play around with the Nikon 24mm f1.4. It was more of a relaxing trip and I didn't plan to make any shots at all but I can never leave my camera at home.
Big Apple was one of my big dreams in my life as a traveler and as a photographer. I was there for four days only but enough to get into a quick flair of this overwhelming city. This is a set of black and white images only. Something like a special edition because we all love black and white street photography, right? Right?!
The big collection from the city that never sleeps. The trip only lasted for four days but enough time to come home with more than 1500 photos. This was also the first trip with my D3 which I just bought for the trip. I didn't want to do this trip without a FX camera and therefore my buddy Teymur sold me his old D3.
The Olper "Schützenfest" is something you can not describe in two sentence. However, if you do not know what this is and you see these photos, you may ask yourself what is going on here. Lets just say, it is a mix of very old traditions, alcohol, party and fun with the whole town. You should come by and look for yourself. They do it every year.
No plans for a summer vacation and a last minute chance for a cheap trip to Venice? Here we go. Hot weather, crowded places and water everywhere. Was it too crowded? Yes. Did it bother me? No. It is Venice, one of the most famous places in the world. What else do you expect during the summer holidays? I was impressed by this city and lucky to have been there.
It was a very hot summer day and my buddy Teymur had the brilliant idea to checkout the local BMX Masters in Cologne. This was also my first session with a FX camera. The sun was pretty hard that day but it was fun to see the riders do their tricks. It was a good day. Like always when you hang out with good friends.
The city of Düsseldorf has the largest Japanese community in Germany. A few years back they started to celebrate a "Japan-Day" to bring the Japanese culture to the people. Today, it is one of the largest cosplay parties in the world. I also walked into a "occupy wall street"/"We are the 99%" demonstration by accident. At the end of the day, it looked almost like a cosplay event, too.
A little club/place where the local indi/punk/hc scene hangs out. Sometimes I work there because the whole thing is a big DIY place which is not always legal and common in Germany. However, I am happy that this place exists. It is always a good time. But with bad light. ISO 6400 or you get lost.
During my last trip to London, I witnessed the so called "London Riots" in 2011. I haven't seen any live action but my buddy Steve was living only two blocks from one of the many places where the fun happened. We were lazy and got drunk and watched the whole thing live on TV. I will not lie, I was afraid of my gear so we stayed inside. This set of photos documents only the aftermath.
The carnival in Cologne is the most famous in Germany and probably the most famous in Europe. There is a common phrase about it: "You ether love it or your hate it!" - I hate it. And that is the reason why we only stayed for about 30 minutes.
My buddy Teymur ask me to help him on this event. It is basically a poor man's Emmys. But I got the chance to prove myself on the red carpet which was a lot more stressful than I thought and I got in contact with the German celebrities. That was the heaviest job I have done so far with more than 3000 photos in less than 8 hours.
A big birthday celebration of my hometown. I didn't even know there was a parade and I run into it by accident. This was the first event where I tried my new 24-70 f2.8 lens. The sun was a bit too bright for my taste but the people had fun and you can see it on their faces.
A christmas party for local bands and friend of the "Club Scheiße". Some of my friends played there and I offered my service to document it.
